Program Description: |
Floreana Internship Program – Language and Technology Skills for the students in Amazonas State School, Floreana Island is developed by Fundación Rolf Wittmer in the Galapagos Islands. The main objective of this program to increase the participation and the relationship of the community of Puerto Velasco Ibarra with the tourism industry by the implementation of training programs of local and touristy interest in Amazonas State School. Training (formal and informal) is offered by selected university students in the field of ESL, English, or Education. Students are recruited, evaluated and recommended by universities (national and international) affiliated to the program. In phase II and III of the project a community tourism model is implemented. The objective in these phases is to encourage the affluence of tourist to Puerto Velasco Ibarra by creating involvement of tourist in the cooperation program. |
